“The lyric for “Release” was written in memory of my father-in-law, Robert F. Rasmussen, by his granddaughter Abby Martin, on the occasion of his passing. Abby sent them in a text message to my wife Patty. When she showed me the text, I knew immediately that it was a song lyric. The music almost wrote itself. I just put the antennas up and took dictation from the cosmos. Thanks, Daddio. I know you had a hand in this one.

By the way, most of what sounds like a synth keyboard on this track is actually guitars run thru layers of reverb. The swells in the chorus were created with an E-Bow, a hand-held magnetic device that vibrates guitar strings as a violin bow would. Scott really outdid himself on this song.”
